Kiss me Kate was fantastic. It is not being syrupy to say I would give anything to see our American society get back to the eloquent use of language practiced by geniuses like Cole Porter. It hurts to think millions of Americans, particularly children will not experience the magic of adult professional stage performances. There really is magic when the lights go down in an elegant theater and a brilliantly conceived and written story unfolds before you. One of the beautiful parts of American culture has been nearly forgotten in the hinterlands. This is a fabulous song from one of the greatest singers in American history; respected, and loved the world over. Thanks.

Apparently not common knowledge, but this song is about good ol’ Philadelphia. It’s so strange! The same city that booed Santa voluntarily shut off their power to conserve for hospitals in an ice storm. And that right there is Philly in a nutshell.

One of the best story-songs I have ever heard. The ending brings me to tears every single time.
